As usual, whenever there is a mass shooting there are calls for gun control. The usual celebrities put on crocodile tears for the cameras concerning the evil 2nd Amendment. Millionaire Jimmy Kimmel was the latest to virtue signal about the wicked 2nd Amendment.

But few people understand the history of the 2nd Amendment and why our Founding Fathers considered it extremely important to a free people.
I am so sick and tired of late night comedians like Kimmel being the moral compasses of the nation. When did this goofy idea come about?

ReplyDeleteThe second amendment was passed so that the State of Georgia, Virginia, South Carolina....... etc, could protect themselfs from a tyrannical Federal Goverment. The Federal Govmernment was forbidden (by the second amendment) to have subject matter jurisdiction over what weapons a state possesed or what that individual state allowed it's citizens to posses or not posses.
All Branches of the Federal government, executive, legislative and judicial, under the constitution, have no power to pass laws, issue executive orders, or make rulings regarding weapons.
Unfortunately, the tyrant Lincoln, and his sycophants, bastardized the constitution with the 14 amendment and its "Equal Protection Clause", giving the Federal Goverment control of the Second Amendment.
and that Charlie Brown, is what the Second Amendment is all about...
